PluralEyes, the audio-video synchronisation software package launched at the end of last year for film and video makers working without time code, is now available for Adobe Premiere Pro users, writes Kevin Hilton. The program, produced by Singular Software, is already on the Final Cut Pro and Vegas platforms and has proved popular for synching sound recorded on two-track file-based recorders like the Zoom H4 with pictures shot using digital still cameras in video mode.

PluralEyes is able to match audio and picture images by analysing data in the sound-track, with no need for time code, clapperboards or similar techniques. The program can also be used as part of the production chain for multi-camera, multi-take projects where the sound has been recorded separately.

The software can now be used with versions 4 and 5 of Adobe Premiere Pro Creative Suite. “From day one we have received tremendous feedback from PluralEyes users, many of whom have requested support for additional host applications,” comments Singular Software chief executive Bruce Sharp. “Our development strategy has always been to expand support to include Adobe Premiere Pro. We are thrilled to provide this new option to Adobe’s community of creative designers and professionals.”

PluralEyes won DV Magazine’s Black Diamond Award at this year’s NAB Convention. Singular Software is offering a 20 percent introductory discount on the original price of US$149 for any purchases made before 17th September 2010.
