Web Content ImageDanish radio station Radio24syv began its new podcast download service this month, offering listeners the chance to hear programmes again, writes Kevin Hilton. Based in Copenhagen, Radio24syv went on air in November 2011 from studios featuring recording, editing and presentation facilities built by integrator Danmon Systems Group.

Broadcasting on FM, DAB and to the internet and mobile devices, Radio24syv has four studios, each featuring a Studer OnAir 3000 mixing desk. The consoles are connected to a common frame featuring main and back-up processors. Audio is produced and stored in a network of servers feeding a Dalet Radio Suite HD production, asset management, play-out and distribution system.

Other equipment at the station includes Schoeps microphones, Teleos IP telephone switchers, a Guntermann & Drunck data matrix, an Orban Optimod transmission processor, Cisco network routers, Miranda interconnection and distribution systems and Genelec monitors.

The installation contract was negotiated by Danmon Group, a sister company of Danmon Systems Group, with the two companies working on the project in partnership. "The cooperation with Danmon has been a great pleasure," comments Radio24syv managing director and chief editor Jørgen Ramskov. "Conditions were extremely difficult with a short timeframe and limited resources but Danmon did the job perfectly with a great degree of flexibility and professionalism so Radio24syv today has a state-of-the-art radio production system."
