Details
Housed in a compact 10U package, the Nova73 HD offers 96kHz operation, Dolby-E compatibility and clock-synchronised switching to video frames or internal DSP. Designed specifically for ease of use, the unit offers up to 8,192 inputs/outputs, available via AES3, MADI and ATM interfaces and features a hot-plug capability and online configuration allowing it to be expanded and changed – even during live broadcasts. Two slots are included for central modules and 16 slots for I/O modules.

The flexible, modular platform is scalable up to 8,192 mono channels and said to offer advanced interface versatility via I/O system DALLIS with fibre-optic infrastructure and direct ATM/SDH connection. According to Lawo, the unit is designed for easy maintenance through a graphic user interface and the possibility of on-air re-configuration plus dual ‘Self-Healing Star’ topology. Lawo’s STAR² technology provides maximum redundancy and fail-safe operation.

Other features include mono routing, transparent transfer (Dolby-E compatible), clock-synchronised switching, 48/44.1 kHz and 96/88.2 kHz sampling rates and a range of possible clock sources including wordclock, AES3, video, MADI and ATM. The Nova73 operates through Lawo’s ControlHD software and AdminHD configuration software.
