The event took place at The Fridge in Brixton, the 1,700-capacity London venue which also provides a home to Alchemea’s Live Sound Diploma course. The first-ever Avid VENUE Instructor Summit enables leading European instructors to gain the skills and knowledge required to teach the new version 2.8 curriculum.

For the event, Avid assembled the complete range of Avid live sound consoles using its own house PA Profile console, a new SC-48 supplied by Avid and a D Show system supplied for the event by SSE Hire.

Alchemea declares the course to have been a “great success”, with own VENUE trainer Radu Dobra the first to pass the new V2.8 exams. Meanwhile, Michael Jurtin rated the new 110v & 210v courses a straight 5 out of 5 and becomes the first non-instructor in Europe to achieve 2.8 Venue Operator Certification.

Students on Alchemea’s next Live Sound Diploma course will also benefit from the new 110v and 210v programme being embedded into their course as standard.
