SSE opens northern facility

31 August 2011
Story Code : cp13

Following the opening of SSE’s London establishment last year, the group has opened a new 3,500 square feet northern office and warehouse facility in Bradford’s Fieldhead Business Centre, located in a prominent position on Listerhills Road, south-west of the city centre.

Continuing its policy of making all its services available from each of its locations, this SSE expansion enables existing customers in the north, including the Tiger Tiger clubs in Leeds, Manchester and Newcastle, to access technical support close at hand.

“When we opened in London’s Park Royal last year, we were able to bring together the services from our merged and acquired London businesses under one roof and then offer hire, sales, installations and the associated service support from that location, just as we do from our Redditch headquarters,” says Group MD, John Penn.  “This has proved to be very successful and makes it simple for our customers – they can access everything from whichever location is convenient for them.”

The northern office and warehouse will be run by General Manager Nick Bolton, with Ryan Thomas over-seeing sales and Paul Todd providing technical support.  The team has already worked together before and saw the move to SSE as a great opportunity.

“In the live events industry, we believe equipment sales and rental has to be fully supported from a service perspective,” says Bolton.  “From a sales perspective, we are able to demonstrate systems and consoles at each of our locations.  It’s great to have an area where we can show customers what they’re buying and more importantly, we can train them on how to use it.  We hope to shortly offer ‘demo days’ following the ones we’ve staged in Redditch and London.”
