What is it?
The latest addition to Extron’s XTRA Series of audio power amplifiers designed for large environments such as auditoriums, convention centres and houses of worship.

Details
The XPA 4002 joins the existing XPA 2002, XPA 2003C and XPA 2004 high power, multi-channel amplifiers, delivering 2 x 400W RMS output and said to be ideal for use with high-powered speaker cabinets or paging horns. XTRA Series Energy Star qualified amplifiers employ a high-efficiency, Class-D design incorporating Extron’s patented CDRS Class-D Ripple Suppression technology said to provides a smooth, clean audio and an improvement in signal fidelity over conventional Class-D amplifiers. XTRA Series power amplifiers are housed in a compact 1U, convection-cooled enclosure and do not require fans for cooling, making them suitable for installation in racks as well as enclosures with limited space and ventilation. The design’s ultra-low inrush current obviates the need for power sequencing on start up.

And another thing…
A sister model – the XPA 4002-70V – is available for use with high impedance 70V distributed speaker systems.
