24 January 2012
Story Code : df80

What is it?
A dynamic microphone with a cardioid polar pattern designed specifically for close-up vocal use in professional live-sound applications.

Details
Said to offer natural, full-range reproduction for vocal applications, the ATM510 is enclosed in a rugged housing incorporating a multi-stage windscreen to control popping, wind noise and distortion from sibilant sounds. Anti-shock engineering ensures low handling noise while Audio-Technica’s Hi-ENERGY neodymium magnet design is said to deliver improved output and transient response. High off-axis rejection minimises feedback for both handheld and stand use, with the Quiet-Flex stand clamp also providing silent, flexible positioning. Frequency response is quoted at 90Hz - 16kHz and (nominal) open-circuit output voltage at 1.7mV @ 1V/1 Pascal. Output impedance is 300 ohms.

And another thing…
Connection of the ATM510 is via a standard 3-pin XLR. The included AT8470 Quiet-Flex stand clamp permits mounting on any microphone stand with 5/8”-27 threads.
